Delusions- Schizophrenia

It was rainy day; the wind blew very hard, “due to depression in the Bay-of-Bengal heavy rains are predicted in the costal regions near Tamilnadu and Andrapradesh, wind speed is approximated to be 80km/hr” the radio kept telecasting the warning message. Sumanth went up to the window to shut the doors, he had had a very terrible day at work and now had got to know the worst of them all his girl friend had been cheating on him. He shut the radio off and sat dumbstruck on the couch. It was eight in the night. Sumanth had no mood for anything, few hours later he dozed off on the couch.

The calling bell rang, it was twelve in the afternoon. Sumanth opened the door their stood a gorgeous looking girl in her early twenties. Shruthi, anybody on the streets had all the chances of mistaking her to be a model. Shruthi was beautiful naturally and she spent most of her time in the parlor.

“Where had you been? I have called your phone some twenty times”. Exclaimed Shruthi as she made hot coffee.

Sumanth looked at her, his eyes were wet he wondered why she was doing this. He wanted to reach to her and cry out, ask her please don’t do this but was very scared off loosing her. He looked around trying to hide his tears from her.

“You ok. Everything fine?” she gave him the glass of coffee. “You not well? Shall I call the doctor?”

“No I am fine, had a bad day at office and head ache”. Sumanth reached to the glass of water and he popped a tablet.

“You sure baby” she kissed his lips as she took her bag “fine take rest will see you tonight, will go to the parlor, took money from your wallet”.

Sumanth called up a local private detective that evening he paid him a monthly commission and asked him to spy on his girlfriend, where and what she does. Sumanth was sure of what he was doing he wanted Shruthi to realize her mistakes and come back to him. Weeks passed he cultivated a habit of drawing a black line on the walls of his room every time he gets to know she lied of cheated him.

It’s been four years now, five in the morning Shruthi was sleeping next to him she look prettier on bed. He knew he can’t live with out her; he kissed her forehead praying when you will be mine.

“Baby I will go shopping with my friends today I need ten grand’s” she wore her brassieres.

“Ok” Sumanth looked around the whole wall was black and a last white line was left he walked to it. All his hopes were destroyed he drew the last black line. The whole room was black now there was no hope Shruthi will get back to him.

“I know where you going what you been doing all these years” Sumanth stooped on to the ground “look around you these lines are the count, the number of times you have cheated me, lied to me” I stayed and prayed that one white line remains to make you mine” he wept very badly “Its all over I fail”.

Shruthi had never known Sumanth knew anything of what she was doing, she had no words and was ashamed of herself she walked away closing the door without a word. She knew what she did was unforgivable and promised herself not to show her face to Sumanth.

A fortnight passed both of them never spoke to each other. Shruthi missed him a lot. She decided to go see him finally. Sumanth laid on the ground weeks without food and proper care he was bed ridden.

“I am sorry honey I never realized what I was doing please forgive me will you please” shruthi cried out loud and held his palm “I will change I just need you with me I wanna spend my life with you please”

Sumanth gave a smile he was too week to speak anything. Shruthi decided to take care of him and everyday she spent with him she drew a white line on the wall.

Thirty years passed for today and shruthi woke up in the moning she looked around the last black line remained she drew her last line of her life and dropped on the ground.

Weeks passed neighbors got worried where the lady was? They couldn’t wait any longer the cops were called to break open the door. The fire fighter came out with a weak old body of aunt Shruthi and rotten piece of skeleton nothing less than thirty years.

Janaki

The wind blew hard as it grew darker and darker. The vehicles honked continuously, it was the peak traffic hours and I stood in the corner of the crossing waiting for the traffic to grow. It was five passed seven now and I knew by seven thirty the Marine drive will be full off fast moving Cars. I looked around it was a cloudy day everyone on the street looked preoccupied, people rushed to make it to their homes. It was only me and an old man who was admiring the people passing by. The old man played a very sad song for his living it was not helping me but I stood there still. I couldn’t take it anymore I closed my eye everything started flashing within seconds, I busted out.

Hours before I had taken bath and was getting ready to meet my love I was expecting him any moment, the only one I have left with me. I have known him since four years, a very rich guy my parents disagreed as he was a Christian and I stood against them, my dad threw me out I still remember his last words “I wish you never born; I have to marry your two younger sisters, from today I have only two daughters, never ever show me your face”. Jackson, he bought me a small rented house nearby and promised me to confess to his parents in two years and take me home as he married me in a temple.

Ding – Dong

The Calling bell rang Jack, he was here I knew it I ran to the door I had a surprise for him. A lady stood in the door it was jack’s Mom “Come in Aunty” I welcomed her shocked. I didn't know how she knew my place but before I could realise I was dragged on to the streets by my hair. I screamed in pain within seconds hundreds had gathered to watch. I looked at her my eyes rolled in tears, she was furious. A lot were running in my mind Humiliation, embarrassment, I could no longer step out to the streets, my mother-in-law was abusing me very badly I could hear. But I was bothered about the people around more until she said “you whore you come here calculated to ruin my son’s life for people like you this is a business. why do you need cloths, stand outside naked you will get customers” she tore my blouse as she spoke “Stay away from my son, next time the colony will have your naked procession” I couldn't take her last words, I was covered in mud as she steamed into her car and drove off. People stood watching me I couldn't bear the shame I covered myself in my sari and ran out of the people’s sight.
I couldn't control myself I was weeping very badly, I opened my eye the old man had stopped playing and was staring at me. It was almost seven thirty huge chunk of fast moving cars passed by I closed my eye and head straight to the traffic. I fell off the road, I didn't know what was happening I knew it was my end, I still held my eyes shut tight I could hear the people around me I was hit by a maroon i20 like the one jack had. I was counting seconds now I just wished I could see jack for the last time tell him that I love him a lot I wanted to die in his arms looking at his eyes. “Janaki” I heard my name, I knew it jack was here I opened my eyes, Jack was holding me hard in his arms; I was bleeding I could see the blood on his cloths. Jack was crying loud I looked at his dark brown eye I couldn't feel the pain anymore he looked very cute I knew one thing for sure Jack loved me by heart and I was glad to have married him.
“I love you a lot Jack”.
